Hi, I’m Shiulee, an artist based in the beautiful country of Canada, which I now call home. Art is as instinctive to me as breathing; it comes naturally. I was born and brought up in Lucknow, known as the city of Nawabs (royalty that held immense power in the Mughal times). They were great patrons of the arts and Lucknow’s legacy as a city of culture, gracious living and rich cuisine continues to this day. Surrounded by that from an impressionable age, it was no wonder that I gravitated towards the beauty of art. Glimpses of Mughal motifs and the old soul charm often find their way into my art pieces.

We are surrounded by beauty, and there is magic in recreating that beauty with elements of imagination, emotions, and moods. I am deeply inspired by nature—the colours, sounds, and textures enrich my creativity.

I am profoundly inspired by the art, architecture, and culture of India. I love creating art that reflects the roots of India in our homes abroad. Travel stories, memories, and vacations also inspire my paintings, adding a personal touch to each piece.
